I was thrilled to work with Simon again at the National Botanical Gardens in Canberra. We were able to capture a variety of portraits nestled against the diverse and vibrant flora of Australia. What was interesting about this shoot in particular, was the ability of the expressions to mimic the natural locations around us. For instance, my harsh poses were highlighted by the harsh appearance of the red centre garden, whereas a relaxed shot was mirrored against the still beauty of the lake - a particular favourite shot.
Simon and I did some walking on this day, as we both wanted to hunt out the best locations for our photos. In this case, my advice to any model-photographer team would be, don't be afraid to explore a particular environment in order to find the backdrop, colours, textures you are looking for.
